Welcome to my website. My name is Kevin Goodwin and I am a professional music teacher. I teach flute, trumpet, clarinet, saxophone, beginner piano and music theory, from beginner to diploma level. I can teach all ages, from children to seniors and cover all genres, including classical, jazz and pop (for fun or for exams). I travel anywhere in Dorset for music lessons in your home or I can offer music lessons where I live in Weymouth.
I love teaching music and helping people to develop their skills while having fun and enjoying their lessons. I have been helping people to learn woodwind for over 25 years. I currently teach in several schools in Dorset. This means that I am quality assured through structured performance management and I have up-to-date safeguarding training and also enhanced DBS (CRB) clearance. I am fully qualified with LRSM (Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music), ALCM (Associate of the London College of Music) and GCGI (City & Guilds Graduateship) and I have taught military music successfully to the Armed Forces.

Free introductory music lessons
I offer free first lessons to all new students. This really helps people who are not sure about having music lessons for the first time. This is a great way to have an introduction to your instrument and music teaching to see if its for you.
I will visit and talk to you about your needs and where you would like to progress to with your music lessons. We can then make arrangements and get started!
On-Line music lessons
I am holding on-line music lessons for customers who would prefer these. I can offer lessons over, facetime, skype, zoom and teams and will be happy to use other platforms as requested. These lessons will be tailored to your individual needs and level.
These are a great way to keep up your practice and learn new skills so get in touch and I will be happy to tell you more about the virtual music lessons.

Instrument loans
I often have some spare woodwind instruments which are available to borrow for a short while, or can be loaned for a longer period for a small charge.
This is ideal if you are not sure which instrument you are suited to or if your instrument needs repairing.
